Note that due to some sillyness (expulsion, sheeesh ) OBC may stand for "Other Bicycle Clubs" in certain instances below!
Despite the tough winds on the return leg, there were some excellent performances. With the low rider turnout today, the last starter, Doug van den Ham (rider 20) had a great motivation - the goal of catching every one of the 19 riders who started before him to be the first finisher! This he managed to do, though he reported that it required quite a sprint to catch Justin Holzscherer (rider 14) just before the finish line! Doug was considerably faster than his attempt only other attempt on this course last September. Another fine performance was Hermann Kerckhoff's. He not only set a new VEM record on this course, but he also bettered the best VEM mark on the easier OTT courses by almost a minute! In all, 4 people improved upon their previous database best on this course, while 8 improved upon earlier 2009 Calabogie 40km reults.

Thanks to our Helpers: Timekeeper John Warren was ably assisted by Peter James at the turn; and by Bob Woods at the start and finish. Bernard Durand, who was too busy at work this weekend to ride this morning, sent along a wonderful spread of food from his catering business, The Foodery.
